Public Art in Downtown Fargo
Yeah, you betcha
You might recognize the name from the 1996 film, Fargo, or hit FX series featuring thick Midwestern accents, white barren landscape, and the infamous woodchipper scene. While the accents are mildly accurate and it is pretty flat, everything else is completely unexpected – or as they like to call it, North of Normal.
For starters, Fargo is covered in art. Everything from the buildings to the electrical boxes are coated with the amazing works of local artists. Every few blocks a new creation awaits.
Downtown Fargo’s first Adventure was published in August of 2020 and has been completed over 260 times by visitors from six different countries!
Locations may be visited in any order. If you choose to walk, the route is roughly one mile and takes an average of 30-40 minutes to complete - depending on how many stops you make along the way! Parking is available in the Roberts Commons parking garage or along Broadway. This Adventure was created in collaboration with The Arts Partnership, Downtown Neighborhood Association, Fargo Walking Tours, Folkways, and Gia “Giacaches” Rassier.

“A very enjoyable tour around downtown. While in the area we stopped in at BernBaum’s for coffee and a nearby noodle house for lunch!”
“Prior to visiting Fargo, I had its residents categorized as simple people among the rocks and cows. That changed as I experienced all the places where I was taken during this Adventure. Artwork should be shared and experienced just like this. Thanks for bringing me here!”
Quest Adventure Race Series
High energy at the starting point
Checkpoints
Due to Covid-19, Quest Adventure Race Series was forced to cancel their usual events and pivot to a new style, with socially distanced race options. The race organizers set up 9 races across Ireland with checkpoint signs along the way for racers to “check-in” with the app.
Nice views throughout the race
Prizes
Instead of starting all racers at the same time, they were able to complete the races with staggered starts so they could race safely. Start to finish times were recorded and winners received prizes in the main from the Quest Adventure Series Team.
Quest Killarney’s racers
#questgeo
Racers from all over Ireland were able to participate in the race while still following covid regulations. #questgeo was used to track participant photos. It looks like they had a great and safe time! 358 accounts were created to participate in the racer, proving how excited people were to still be able to race.
